Memorial Day Weekend...

This weekend was really good. Cam and I both had Saturday off, so we went to the Logan Temple with his parents, sister, and her husband. I love it there.. There's a peace at the Temple that I can't find anywhere else.
That afternoon, Cam vacuumed out the truck and my car. I sat in the back of the truck and watched. Haha lazy much? Yep.. that's me.
Sunday, we taught primary. Those kids are crazy. I have no idea what to do about it. They're so misbehaved it makes me crazy! I've almost cried a couple times because they're so out of control...
After church, we headed down to Cam's parents house for his little brother, Alex's, ordaination and graduation party. It was fun to see everyone and spend time just hanging out with his family. We're proud of you, Alex!

Monday, we spent with my family. We met at the cemetary with blue balloons and sharpies. We wrote notes to Madey on them, released them, and watched them disappear into the sky.. I loved it. It brought us all a little closer...
Afterwards, we all went to a new barbeque place in Layton called Moon Dog's and it was pretty good! My grandma made plenty of inappropriate comments and asked my cute husband to give her a "snookie bite." Currently known as a good old hickey. Yep. Wow. I didn't even know what to say. Neither did Cam. Hahaha I love my grandma :)

We also saw Kung Fu Panda 2! It was pretty dang funny. We're also the coolest people ever. I have a giant purse. I love it that way. Even if it is a bottomless pit. So, before the movie started, Cameron and I ran over to the dollar store and bought candy for cheap, hid it in my purse, and snuck it in. Woot! Haha I hate paying $5 for a box of Gobstoppers. I just can't do it when I can get it for a dollar somewhere else. So, we are cool and sneaky and that's that.

Overall, it was a darn good weekend with good food and our families! I can't wait to do it again :)

ps. I gave up on that posting everyday thing. I just forget! Sorry, Ash...

Oops..

So, remember that posting everyday challenge thing? I didn't even make it 2 days. Haha oops.

I'll just squish yesterday's and today's into one, ok?

Yesterday's good thing: I only worked for 3 and a half hours :) it was lovely! and I got to spend the morning with Cameron because he didn't work until later in the day. It was the best!

And.. today's good thing.. Cameron had a job interview today! If nothing, its a good experience to just apply right? So we'll see if anything happens!

Have a lovely weekend!

Challenging...

A friend of mine challenged me to come up with one good thing that either happens to me or that I think of everyday for the next 27 days [until she leaves for Africa]. So I thought, why not? If anything, it'll help me think of and remember the good things that happened during my day instead of the not so great :)

So, today's good thing...

I was messaging my dad after he got done with teaching for today. My dad teaches seminary. Its the coolest job ever. Well, this semester, he's also teaching an institute class for the seniors at the high school that he teaches at. I asked him what he was teaching about tonight and he was sweet enough to send me his power point so that I could read it and go over the scriptures he's using tonight.
The title of tonight's class is "Jesus Christ-The Son of God." As soon as my dad told me what he was teaching I got excited. I opened the power point file and as I read the title, that one phrase brought more emotions to the surface than I was expecting. Because I know it's true.
He talks about the roles that Christ has in our lives and throughout the scriptures. A few he talks about are Creator, Son of God, Redeemer, Savior, Advocate, and Father.

Jesus Christ is my Savior and my Redeemer. I know this to be true.

[If you want to know more about what I know is true, go here. Its a good place to get started..]

I'm so thankful for my Savior, for His gospel. I'm thankful for the great example of my parents. I'm thankful that they taught me to always choose the right and listen to the Spirit. I'm thankful that I can have an eternal family because Cameron and I were sealed in temple for time and all eternity.. I'm thankful that I will be able to see my sister again..

"From first to last, Jesus is the same, always the same-majestic and simple, infinitely severe and infinitely gentle. Throughout a life passed under the public eye, he never gives occasion to find fault. The prudence of his conduct compels our admiration by its union of force and gentleness. Alike in speech and action, he is enlightened, consistent, and calm. Sublimity is said to be an attribute of divinity. What name then shall we give him, in whose character were united every element of the sublime? I know men, and I tell you that Jesus Christ is not a man. Everything in him amazes me. His spirit out-reaches mine, and his will confounds me. Comparison is impossible between him and any other being in the world. He is truly a being by himself. I see nothing here of man. Near as I may approach, closely as I may examine, all remains above my comprehension-great witha greatness that crushes me. It is in vain that I reflect -all remains unaccountable! I defy you to cite another life like that of Christ."

I think I'm a little bit crazy...

I have a flaw. Just one, really. ;)
Sometimes, things in my life just pile up in my brain and I think and think and think about them. Then they stress me out.
A lot.

I get a little crazy. My brain just thinks about it all the time and I can't not think about it. I don't dig it. So right now, I need a way to not be crazy, to not think about this stressful situation over and over again. Help?

Maybe I'll go buy a Dr. Pepper......

"Enduring adversity is not the only thing you must do to experience a happy life.
Let me repeat: how you react to adversity and temptation is a
critical factor in whether or not you arrive at your own
'happily ever after.'"

Valiant 8...

Cam and I have been called to teach the Valiant 8 class in Primary! We're really excited to teach our first lesson next week. We met the kids yesterday and they're so funny! Cam's super excited to get to know the kids. He told me yesterday that he wants us to be the coolest teachers ever. I think we can do it :)
